AdurII (Home) vs. Worthing Sharks - 14th October 2008
Sussex Volleyball League - Devision 2

AdurII launched our new season this Tuesday against Worthing Sharks. Despite a negative end result (0-3), the newly formed AdurII team forced Sharks to earn their win with some good serving from Dirk and Neale, strong tactical blocks from Dirk, spikes from Monty, sets from Tania and Richard, and good cover of the court by Gwenn, Tom, Ebba, Stuart and Zhijin. An overall good team spirit prevailed, encouraged from the sidelines by the ever fair and neutral first team. It was a valiantly fought first effort by the team, expertly steered by Julie's coaching. We also fielded some raw beginners for their first match experience. Everyone gained from their experience of game play and came away wanting to train hard in order to improve their playing ability. Definitely a promising start to the season’s campaign. (Encouragement from Julie)

"I am surprised that noone picked up on George's appalling biased reffing! -Clearly he had been slipped a substantial sum of money by the Sharks for calling balls from us out when they were clearly in! Has anyone else noticed Georges new car! Just a coincidence? I think not! Maciek did his best to keep George in check but to no avail."
